Who we are

The Pixel Village (thepixelvillage.com) is run by Rob, creator of Lilly’s Tech Tips, based in Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@thepixelvillage.com.

What we collect and why

  • Waitlist and free downloads: your email address, so we can send you the free resource you asked for and updates about The Pixel Village launch. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Coaching applications: your name, email, links to your work, any files you upload and your answers to the application questions, so we can assess whether coaching is a good fit and reply to you. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Signing in with Google: if you choose to sign up or log in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use them only to create your account and sign you in. We never receive your Google password and we do not access anything else in your Google account. Legal basis: steps taken at your request to provide your account.
  • Community account: your profile details, posts, comments and course progress, so you can take part in the community and keep track of your progress. Legal basis: providing the service you signed up for.
  • Website analytics: Google Analytics collects information about how visitors use the site (pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location). Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site.
  • Security and spam protection: your IP address and browser details are processed by our security tools and by Google reCAPTCHA on forms to block spam and attacks. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Hostinger: website hosting and email sending (EU servers).
  • Google: Analytics, reCAPTCHA and Sign in with Google.
  • Wordfence (Defiant Inc.): website security and firewall.
  • Vimeo / YouTube: embedded videos, which may set their own cookies when played.

Some of these providers may process data outside the EU. Where they do, they rely on approved safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell it, use it for advertising or share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or the list is no longer used. Account details, posts and course progress are kept while your account is open, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time. Coaching applications are kept for up to 12 months unless we start working together. Security logs are kept for a short period as set by our security tools.

Cookies

This site uses cookies needed for it to work and stay secure, plus cookies set by Google Analytics, Google reCAPTCHA and embedded videos.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@thepixelvillage.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
